Some owners of the iPhone 18 Pro are reporting an unwelcome surprise. Fading and discoloration is appearing around the rear camera area, and the problem looks more noticeable on certain units finished in Burgundy. According to user reports, the discoloration stays visible even after the surface is cleaned, which rules out smudges or fingerprints as the explanation. The exact cause remains unclear. Some users believe heat generated around the camera system could be a possible factor, though that theory has not been confirmed. Apple has not yet issued any official comment on the reports, leaving early buyers without guidance on whether the issue will spread or affect resale value. The complaints are drawing comparisons with similar discoloration concerns reported by some iPhone 17 Pro users last year, which adds fuel to an ongoing debate about the durability and finish of Apple latest Pro models. For now the reports remain anecdotal and Apple has not confirmed that any official defect exists, so affected users will be watching closely for a statement or a quiet fix in future production runs.
