Apple iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to support faster charging than their predecessors, with both models reportedly capable of reaching around 50 percent battery capacity in just 15 minutes. There is a catch, though. The phones need to be paired with a compatible power adapter rated at 60W or higher, and simply using a 60W charger may not be enough. The adapter also needs to support SPR AVS technology, which allows the iPhone and the charger to communicate and negotiate an appropriate voltage for faster and safer charging. As a result, many chargers rated at 60W or more may not deliver the maximum charging performance, and buyers will need to check for SPR AVS support before expecting the headline speeds. The iPhone 18 Pro Max also reportedly comes with a battery exceeding 20Wh, which can trigger additional requirements when the device is being shipped. To address this, Apple Prepare to Ship feature can temporarily discharge the battery below the 20Wh threshold when an iPhone is being prepared for shipping, repair or trade in. Once the device is activated again, the restriction is automatically removed and the battery operates normally. The feature is designed to simplify shipping and handling requirements while keeping the regular experience unchanged for users.
