Pakistan Settle for Asian Games Silver After 19 Run Defeat to India

Pakistan finished with the silver medal in the men's cricket competition at the 2026 Asian Games after losing the final to India by 19 runs on Saturday, October 3 in Nisshin, Japan. India batted first and posted 211 for six in their 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma set the tone with 61 from 28 balls, while Tilak Varma finished unbeaten on 51 from 22. Pakistan's Arafat Minhas and Ahmed Daniyal took two wickets apiece. The chase began badly, with Pakistan slipping to 39 for three. Hasan Nawaz then produced a brilliant 96 from 51 balls, striking five fours and seven sixes to keep his side in the contest. He was dismissed on the final ball of the innings, and Pakistan closed on 192 for six. Saim Ayub added 29 and Maaz Sadaqat scored 23. For India, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar and Shivam Dube claimed two wickets each. The win gave India the gold medal, with Pakistan taking silver and Sri Lanka earning bronze.
