Trump to Honour Musk, Huang and Other Tech Leaders With Top US Science Medals

The United States is preparing to honour some of its most prominent technology leaders with the country's highest science and technology awards. US President Donald Trump will present the medals at the White House on Thursday during a summit titled 'Science: A New Golden Age.'

Elon Musk, Google co founder Sergey Brin, Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang and AMD chief executive Lisa Su will receive the National Medal of Science, the highest national honour for scientists and engineers in the United States. In a separate ceremony, Dell Technologies chief executive Michael Dell and Microsoft chief executive Satya Nadella will receive the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, the country's top honour for technological achievement.

The White House said the awards recognise the recipients' contributions to science and technology and their role in advancing innovation across the United States. The ceremony forms part of a wider summit focused on scientific discovery and America's future in emerging technologies.

The event arrives as the Trump administration pushes a new approach to scientific research, placing greater emphasis on innovation, artificial intelligence and private sector involvement. A White House report under the same name as the summit outlines plans to reshape the American research and development system and strengthen the country's position in emerging technologies. The gathering will bring together major figures from the technology, semiconductor, artificial intelligence and space industries.
