A startup built by a 22 year old founder has found its exit. Groomify, founded by Syed Muhammad Hassan Askari with co founder Muhammad Mustafa, has been acquired, marking a rare early win for Pakistan's young startup culture. The identity of the acquirer was not disclosed. Groomify set out to improve the productivity of brands and businesses by improving their organisational culture, with a focus on developing human resources that are skilled, ethical and well presented. Before Groomify, the 22 year old Askari had built a different startup that sent barbers to customers' doorsteps through technology, but he felt it was not creating the impact he wanted, so he pivoted to changing how organisations operate. The startup was the first to be launched at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with Connected Pakistan, where convener Aizaz Muhammad and Connected Pakistan founder and chief executive Syed Arsalan Ali Shah praised the initiative. Askari has credited Plan 9 at the Arfa Kareem Software Technology Park for providing the networking environment startups need to grow. Speaking about the journey, the founders said working with limited resources in Pakistan was far from easy, and thanked God for the achievement while pledging to welcome and guide upcoming startups.
